Green Cementech 2013

Indian economic growth is contingent upon the growth of cement industry. Due to rising demands from infrastructure, residential & commercial projects, growth in domestic cement demand is expected to rise between 465 kg per capita and 810 kg per capita in 2050. IEA estimates shows that by 2050 cement production could reach between 780 MT and 1360 MT by 2050.

This growth necessities increased usage of natural resources, such as coal, oil, electricity & water. Achievement of higher growth rate with optimal use of resources and better emission & discharge standards is the need of the hour. There is a growing need to focus on promoting ecologically sustainable business growth models. With prudent resource usage businesses not only gain the competitive edge but also turn out to be ecologically sustainable business models.

In the efforts to promote sustainable development of cement sector and demonstrate that green makes good business sense, CII - Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre (CII - Godrej GBC) with the support of all the stakeholders is playing a catalytic role in promoting World Class Energy Efficiency initiative in cement industry by promoting latest technologies and energy management practices by organising various workshops, conferences and national & international missions.

As a part of the initiative, CII - Godrej GBC and Cement Manufacturer's Association (CMA) has been jointly organising Green Cementech, annual conference on Cement Technologies for the past 8 editions which has evoked excellent response from all the participants.

In line with this series, CII - Godrej GBC in partnership with CMA is organising the 9th edition of Green Cementech on 16th & 17th May 2013 at Hyderabad.
