India crosses the 3 Billion Sq.ft mark of registered Green Building Footprint
Consolidates its leadership position in the global Green Buildings map
'Remarkable milestone for Indian Green Building movement' : Dr Jain

Providing a major impetus to the National Green Building Movement, today Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of CII, facilitated India to cross the 3 Billion Sq.ft mark of registered Green Building footprint. This has further consolidated India's leadership position as the second Country in the world with largest Green Building footprint.
Expressing delight over this remarkable milestone at IGBC's Conference on Green Existing Buildings, Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman, IGBC said that, today is indeed a red-lettered day in India's Mission to facilitate a Greener & Healthier India.
This is a result of concerted efforts of all the stakeholders of Indian construction industry, he said. Chairman thanked all the stakeholders for being part of this remarkable & fulfilling journey.
Dr Jain underlined that the reason for this significant progress is the fact the Green Buildings make Good Business Sense. This key proposition in encouraging stakeholders go the Green Buildings way, added Dr Jain.
Over the years, India has gained enough experience and has vision, leadership, technical expertise and wherewithal on addressing various aspects of sustainable construction, he said. India will set new global standards in design, construction and operation, highlighted Dr Jain.
Dr Jain underlined that, IGBC aspires to facilitate 10 Billion Sq.ft by 2022 (India's 75th year of Independence).
