Paint our Earth Green

Drawing Competition for School Children organised by CII 355 students from 79 Schools in Hyderabad took part in the Competition

Today, CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, in its efforts to generate awareness on the need & importance of environmental protection and instill a sense of passion and knowledge towards Planet Earth in the young minds, organised 'Paint our Earth Green'- Drawing Competition for school children in and around Hyderabad.

Mr B Ashok Reddy, Vice- Chairman, CII - Andhra Pradesh presented the Awards to the School Children. Top 3 Awards followed by 2 consolation Prizes were given for each Standard.

Mr Ashok Reddy said that, events of this nature will go a long in facilitating the sustainable development of the country. CII is working on the 'India @ 75 agenda', for making India a developed country by 2022. Environment is one of the important areas of focus of this 'India @ 75 agenda', he added.

A panel of eminent judges led by Mr L S Ganapati, Chairman - Judges Panel, CII - School Drawing Competition has evaluated the drawings. Mr Ganapati underlined that students, through their original thoughts have creatively articulated them in their posters and clearly conveyed the message that going Green is the need of the hour.

It is gratifying to note the higher level of intellect and creativity of the present generation and their interest to be part of the solution to environmental problems, he added.

Mr S Raghupathy, Executive Director, CII-Godrej GBC informed that, this is the 3rd time Hyderabad is organising this competition and this year's response has doubled than the last year. This clearly indicates that the awareness levels on environmental issues are on the rise in Hyderabad, he said.

He informed that 355 students from 79 schools, belonging to 4-8 class standards took part in the Drawing Contest. Students were asked to design posters on the themes weaved around energy conservation, water conservation, usage of renewable energy, how to protect environment and biodiversity conservation, he added.
