Dear All,

Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), a division of CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre (CII-Godrej GBC) has proposed to launch LEED-India Green Building rating system.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ( LEED) rating system has been developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) based at Washington . The LEED rating system is widely accepted across the globe as a premier Green Building rating system. More than 13 countries have adopted this rating system so far.

The IGBC has proposed to launch “LEED India ”, which would be similar to LEED rating system with minor modifications so as to suit Indian conditions and priorities.

We have formed a core committee comprising of all stakeholders of the construction industry under the chairmanship of Mr C N Raghavendran, Architect, CRN & Associates and Member, Indian Green Building Council. The committee had several brainstorming sessions and has come out with specific suggestions and changes.

We would request you to offer your valuable suggestions/comments to make the LEED-India rating system a truly outstanding one.

We would appreciate your feedback/comments on or before March 2005, to enable us to launch the rating system at the earliest.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

With kind regards,

ParasuRaman R
