INTRODUCTION
For the developing economy of India, it is imperative to have renewed focus on sustainable growth and development. However, the flipside of achieving higher GDP growth rate has resulted in increased consumption of the natural resources, increased waste generation and ultimately ecological degradation.
CII-Godrej GBC as part of its Green initiatives has formed the Environment & Recycling Council constituting committed and eminent experts from manufacturing and service sector. The council is playing a catalytic role in facilitating Indian industries to adopt and promote various aspects of Waste Management and Recycling.
As part of this initiative, CII-Godrej GBC is making concerted efforts in bringing together all the key stakeholders in highlighting the need and importance of waste management; in order to realize the vision of the council.
